If you died tomorrow

2015-09-27 12.34.22-1
If you died tomorrow
what would your legacy be?
Would it be love, kindness and many
instances of growth,
brave pursuit of your own hopes
that were planted inside your soul
or a selfish escape from yourself
into the shells of your past
afraid to take new steps into the future
afraid to start?

If you died tomorrow
what would you do differently today?
Which path would you take
if you could choose
to change in this life
before it’s too late.

What cries of the soul
yours or in someone else’s heart
would you sooth
if you could
in those last moments
if you had time.

What grace would you ask of God
if you knew you
will soon have to say
your final goodbye?
And would you be free to go
or would something hold you back,
unable to let go?

If you died tomorrow
what would you do differently today?

And what if you lived?

  1. A thought-provoking poem! It makes me think of the all the things I am doing wrong in life that I otherwise wouldn’t do if I were to die tomorrow.

A penny for your thoughts...
