The season of Advent leading up to Christmas is filled with nice decorations, both interior in homes, churches or offices, and exterior in the cities. I love the array of beauty that can be found in such decorations. They are not the meaning of the season, but they can guide the way, gently reminding us that beauty which God placed inside our souls should also be brought to light.
Last week I was at a Carol service of a prayer group that I attend in Dublin, and we decorated the room for the night. Beauty often hides in little things; we but need to learn to notice it. Even our hearts are little compared to the grandeur they can hold within.
I will show you some of the details I captured in photos. As you look at them, recall beauty that you saw and do not take it for granted. Dostoevsky once said, “Beauty will one day heal the world”. Because beauty comes from God it is charged with grace, which in effect heals our wounds, and has a potential to make broken things new.
