If you ever wondered about a definition of beauty, I think this flower comes very close to it.
I love photography, especially when it captures details and reveals beauty hidden in things, for instance in this flower it uncovers what a bare eye may miss. Yet beauty is not defined in words or concepts, but rather through an imprint that it leaves on our inner senses. Whenever something exterior touches our soul in a deep way, we recognise beauty and call that ‘thing’, flower, a person, a moment, whatever left a strong impression on us, we call it beautiful. There is a lot of wisdom in beauty, but that wisdom carries itself with such elegance and tact that it will not impose itself on those who are not worthy of it. No, it only lets itself known to those who stop to appreciate it, like a person pausing to smell the fresh fragrance of a flower. If you are worthy of it, beauty’s wisdom will allure you, seduce you, attract you, captivate you, and you will allow it.
“Love of beauty is taste. The creation of beauty is art.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
